i'm such a fan of public transportation and i'm thankful that penang-nang has a great, easy to navigate system of buses. today, i visited the two places that were my priority: kek lo si temple, the largest buddhist temple and pagoda in malaysia and batu ferringhi, a beach. now, i'm not usually particular about beaches, shoot! give me an ocean, some decent sand and i'm a very happy camper. but, to be fair, i have to say that coral bay beach on the smaller island of pulau pangkor was a much more enjoyable time. coral bay was quiet, serene and pretty. (ah! but there was that monkey...) now, batu ferringhi, has nice sand...but the noises from the jet skis and surrounding construction just didn't foster that ambiance that made coral bay so damn memorable. regardless, i was smiling, swimming in the ocean and ahem, this time, not getting burned!
tomorrow, i'm on my way to cameron highlands, a tea and the color green lover's delight!
